Red Hat's JBoss for Enterprise SOAs Coming This Month

Last week Raleigh, N.C.-based Red Hat announced that its new JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform will debut by the end of February.
Billed as a "comprehensive" product, JBoss Enterprise SOA includes a number of Red Hat's open source technologies, including a business process management (BPM) capability--a solution typically sold separately from the general SOA software stack.
The package will include: JBoss ESB, for application integration and service registry; JBoss jBPM, for workflow and service "orchestration"; and JBoss Rules, a business process and rules management system. The JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform also supports scalable clustering, according to Red Hat's announcement.
The company is emphasizing the cost benefits of its open source product.
"The JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform offers a light-weight footprint and simple installation for low-cost operations," the company's announcement stated.
The solution includes governance, security and registry technologies, among others, from various Red Hat partners, including "Active Endpoints, Amberpoint, Information Builders and iWay Software, SeeWhy, SOA Software and Vitria Technology."

In other Red Hat-related SOA news, the company also announced last week that its JBoss DNA project will house a SOA governance foundation repository.
