Multiple Universities Deploy Xythos Document Management

More than a dozen colleges and universities have joined the ranks of campuses using technology from Xythos Software to collaborate with, store, share and manage their documents.

The schools include Abilene Christian University, City University of New York (CUNY), Concordia University, Eastern Illinois University, Fashion Institute of Technology, Fuller Theological Seminary, Louisiana State University, Medical University of South Carolina, New York University, Occidental College, Princeton University, Texas State University, The College of William and Mary, University of California at Santa Barbara, University of Kansas, and Wesleyan University.

Xythos' Enterprise Document Manager Suite offers a range of capabilities, including:
Drivers for universities to opt for Xythos include increased content security needs; the deployment of more advanced features such as records management to build repositories of institutional records and content; ease of integration; and the ability to build open source systems that work with Xythos.

For examaple, Northwestern University recently created File Bridge, an open source system that lets Blackboard users more easily manage and share their course content using Xythos. “Web-enabled storage and collaboration is becoming a more common component of enterprise applications,” said Brian Nielsen, Northwestern's project manager for faculty initiatives, in a prepared statement. “Xythos can help institutions deliver that functionality without replacing legacy systems.” he added.
